safety policies
- Any injury will be treated seriously and the dancer will be asked to sit out until they can be assessed.
- Lifts will not be taught without mats, and dancers must pass assessments before they are allowed to attempt it.
- Lifts will always be taught with two adult spotters.
- Stretching and strength training will be incorporated into the beginning every class to prevent injury.
sick policies
- Dancers must be symptom free for 24 hours before attending class. This includes:
- Fevers
- Coughs
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Rashes
- If the teacher is sick a make-up class will be scheduled. Teacher will provide notice of class cancellation at least 24 hours in advance by email and Facebook page. In case of an emergency, teacher will send out text messages/emails.
parents staying during class time
- Parents are asked to drop off and leave. We have some very shy dancers that are uncomfortable being watched.
- Parents are always welcome back the last 10 minutes of class.
- This will still let them have exposure to dancing in front of others but the opportunity to be comfortable in their own space first. This will also limit distractions so they can focus.
- There will also be several parent watch days throughout the year.
Classroom expectations
- Dancers ages 13+ are required to sign a code of conduct form. This reiterates our expectations of dancers treating everyone with respect, having a positive attitude, and includes our anti-bullying policy.
